INTRODUCTION:  Amy and I will be serving for 2 years as associate pastor of East City Wesleyan Church.  ECW is located in Howick, a suburb of Auckland, NZ.

THE PASTOR:   We have had the privilege of getting to know Rev. Richard Waugh over the past year and have learned a little bit about the man we will work with and for in NZ.  Although we really are going to learn the most once we are in NZ. 

    Pastor Waugh, is a "strategist" and I've been told "strategic" is one of his favorite words to use. 

    To quote the ECW website "Rev. Richard Waugh is the Lead Minister of East City Wesleyan and a well known evangelical Church leader. He loves encouraging people and is a community leader serving as Deputy Chairman and elected member of the Pakuranga Community Board and is also a leading New Zealand aviation historian."

    Amy and I are looking forward to working with Rev. Waugh and growing from the experience.

    This contemporary, worship service for all ages runs every Sunday morning from 10am. Practical teaching with creative multi-media elements make this a service that the whole family will relate to. The children's program, Kids For Christ (KFC) runs alongside the worship service.

   One note I would like to add is that ECW is a forward thinking, outreach oriented church.  They have planted and supported two additional congregations in their young years as a congregation.

ECW helped to plant a Mandarin language speaking daughter church.  They have recently become an independent congregation.

Cession has also recently become an independent congregation.  Our arrival released Pastor Brett Jones from his role in worship ministries at ECW and enabled him to focus full time energies into pastoring Cession/Community. 

SUMMARY:  ECW is a church that is growing and God has called them to seek out an associate pastor for youth and music ministry.  Not having an abundance of available ministers in NZ, nor the funds to fully support an associate at this time, they have asked Amy and I to come serve as missionaries to their congregation and their community. 

This is in accordance with the purposes and goals of Global Partners.
