Support Team Update Letter – July 2006
It
may be a little late but our update letter for July is finally
done. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about
our situation and progress. Please consider our prayer
requests and note the important message about sending in
financial faith promises to Global Partners. If you
completely filled out a support card and gave it to us you can
disregard the following note and continue below to our news and
prayer requests.
An Important
Note about Financial Faith Promise:
Many commitments made have not been sent in and that delays our
departure.
FAITH
PROMISE: is any financial support that is promised for the
future, either as monthly/yearly etc... Global Partners will
total our fundraising based on these commitments as well as
money sent in all at once. Basically we need you to tell them
the details of your support!
-
If you have committed support to our mission but have not yet told
Global Partners (or given us
your card), it is not
counting towards our budget. That means we could be held back
by Global
Partners even if our
budget is raised in theory. Our totals are not necessarily
theirs. We can
only go to NZ when THEY
have our budget information.
-
PLEASE BE SURE TO INFORM THEM OF ALL OF YOUR COMMITMENT. Many
people have
sent in partial support
without informing them of future contributions. For example, if
you send
in a yearly donation of
$240 (a $20/mo commitment) but don’t inform them that it is for
our term
of two years. Global
Partners will only count $240 towards our budget instead of
$480. This
slows us down severely
because we have to re-contact each individual and have them
submit
their support again.
You
can let Global Partners know by mailing in the commitment card
(or simply a letter with all the information), or signing up on
their website:
www.paygivego.com. If
you have any questions or concerns please let us know.
Dear Support Team,
We
can’t thank you enough for the tremendous blessing you have been
to us! We have enjoyed the opportunity to travel around to
different churches and meet most of you. We can definitely feel
the power of your prayers and are humbled by your generous
gifts.
I do
apologize for the delay I getting this update to you. We’ve
barely been home in the last month and a few weeks ago our
laptop decided to stop working for us. But God provides and we
were able to find a good deal on a new one and now we are back
in business.
Our most
exciting news to share with you is our financial status. Back
at the end of May we visited the Brown’s Flat Community
Fellowship Church. Many prayer warriors from that congregation
joined our support team and began to pray for a miracle that we
would be able to go to New Zealand by August 2006. We had our
doubts that things could come together so quickly but they, and
many of our other prayer partners, prayed and that miracle is in
sight.
We’ve just
returned home after ten days at Beulah, the Atlantic District
family camp. We both have spent many summers on those camp
grounds over the years and it was fun to get involved again. It
was a busy time of speaking, singing, washing dishes in the
kitchen and catching up with friends but it was also very
exciting to see new people joining our support team and our fund
raising numbers getting closer and closer to the goal. Before
Beulah we still needed $13,000/year. By Thursday evening when
we got up to speak about our mission to NZ we needed
$8,000/year. And now, as you’ll see below, we are much closer.

Some other news & prayer requests:
-We recently celebrated our first anniversary on July 16th.
We praise God for a wonderful first year of marriage!
-We had the opportunity to join in the festivities of the Inman
Family Reunion in early July. We also praise God for a
Christian heritage and wonderful family on both sides.
- We have been trying to sell our 1999 Mazda Protege over the
last couple of months as we will not need it while we are in NZ
and we certainly don’t need the car payments now. We’ve had a
couple of people show interest so please pray that we will have
it sold soon. If you are interested please reply to this
email. NOTE: We will deliver!
- We are on
the last leg of fund raising and we are getting excited that we
will be in New Zealand soon. But I’m sure that there is still
much to do. Please pray for us as we get insurance, buy plane
tickets, try to match our supporter records with what Global
Partners has received, and tie up loose ends with Global
Partners. Pray that these details will work out smoothly and
there will be no undue delay.
-And finally,
please pray that we will see good response as we continue to
travel around the Atlantic District and that our support raising
will not level off now that we are so close to the goal.
Thank you
again for your continued prayer and support.
Blessings,
Amy & Drew Donovan
