Dear
Support Team,
God is so good! This past year has been an amazing journey for
us (becoming a missionary is a great way to see God at work).
It’s been exactly a year since we made the decision to move to
NZ and as we’ve worked toward that goal God has taught us many
lessons in patience (waiting for His timing) and trust (that He
is our provider and will guide our footsteps).
We are
excited to report to you that the wait it over. On September 6th
we will be getting on a plane to Auckland. And, of course,
God’s timing is perfect. September 10th, our first
Sunday in the country, will be the 6th anniversary of
the Wesleyan church in NZ.
The timing
also works out well for our housing situation. A couple of
months ago East City Wesleyan told us that they found a suitable
house for us and that they needed to start renting it in
August. We had already been praying that we would finish our
fund-raising in August but at that time we were not close enough
to our goal to tell them for sure. As we got close to our goal
in early August we contacted Rev. Richard Waugh and he informed
us that ECW had stepped out in faith that our prayers (and
yours) would be answered and they secured the house for us.
Even though we will not be there until September God has worked
it out. A couple from ECW needed a place to live for the month
of August so they are staying in our house until we arrive.
As we’ve
learned to trust God, He has provided the funds for out missions
budget as well as our living expenses as we’ve been fund-raising
over the last couple of months. I’m not really sure how but
He’s allowed us to buy a new computer and do all of our
traveling, with insane gas prices, and still not break the
bank. We are glad to have completed the fund-raising phase
(although it was fun to travel around and visit so many churches
and people). Now we can focus on the last minute details and
packing for our move to the ends of the earth.
Some
praises & prayer requests:
-
We have sold our car!!
- We’ve reached our financial goal and are cleared to go!!
- Please pray for safe travel as we drive with my parents to my
sister’s house in Toronto and then on to New Zealand from there.
- Please pray for our upcoming time of transition. That we will
be able to adjust quickly to our time zone and culture. And
that
in the next few weeks we will take advantage of our time with our
families and be able to have good goodbyes.
- Please pray that our last minute paperwork and tasks would
come together quickly and easily.
Thank you
again for your continued prayer and support.
Blessings,
Amy & Drew Donovan
