THE POINT SYSTEM

Well if there is one thing that makes poker boring, it's
playing for nothing. So since we don't promote gambling and
encourage people not to gamble we play for points instead!
As well as the new SURGE POKER CUP that the winner of each
tournament may take home and display when they win. So here
is the point system.
When you take
part in a tournament night you are guaranteed at least one point.
You earn more points by placing higher in the tournament.
You get one point for every person who finishes before you.
For example. If there are 9 players and you finish 4th you
would get 5 points for beating 5 players.
The winner of a tournament is awarded two
bonus points and becomes the bounty for the next tournament.
Eliminating the bounty is worth 2 points.
However for every consecutive tournament that player wins the
points increase by one. For example, I've won 3 tournaments
in a row now so the bounty on me is 9 points. 2 for the
first, 3 for the second, and 4 for the third. If you
eliminate me from our next tournament those are yours.
YOUR POINTS MAY BE USED FOR
REBUYS! A rebuy is a way to buy back in to a tournament that
you have already lost.
Rebuys work like this:
1 point = 20% of starting chips
2 points = 40% of starting chips
3 points = 60% of starting chips
4 points = 100% of starting chips
So if you want to buy back in you will have
to play enough to earn some points.
BONUS POINTS:
You can earn bonus points in the following
ways:
Winning a 9 person +
tournament = 5 points
Second Place in a 9 person + tournament = 3 points
Third Place in a 9 person + tournament = 1 point
** Larger tournaments may be awarded more points
Winning a 6 person or less
tournament = 3 points
Second Place in a 6 person or less tournament = 1 point
Heads Up Games: We will
occasionally have some heads up nights. (especially if we don't
have enough show to have a good size tournament.) Heads up
play will teach you some important tips about the game and any two
players eliminated from a tournament may play a heads up game.
Heads up means one on one and
it is a much different type of poker. You have to play
almost every hand and can take some practice. In heads up
games the two players will wager points. For example: 2
players may wager one point and play a game. The winner gets
the losers 1 point added to their score and the loser is deducted
the 1 point. |
